History & character
Located near the village of Knock in Aberdeenshire, north-east of Speyside. Opened in October 1894, it is said to be the first distillery the Distillers Company built itself, on land chosen for nearby barley, peat, the railway and natural springs.
It closed in 1983 and was reopened in 1988 by the partners behind Inver House.
To avoid confusion with the similarly named Knockando, its single malt has been sold as anCnoc since 1993.
