History & character

Established in 1879 in Bardstown, Kentucky. The site is a sprawling complex of some 51 buildings, most of them rickhouses for ageing barrels.

After passing through several owners, Barton was sold by Constellation Brands to the Sazerac Company in 2009, and the distillery now carries the name of its flagship bourbon.

Besides the 1792 bourbons it produces Very Old Barton, and the company's portfolio spans whiskey, vodka, gin and liqueurs.
